2017 Poster and Poetry Contest

In celebration of Drinking Water Week, May 7-13, 2017, DC Water is sponsoring a poster and poetry contest for K-12 public school students in Washington, DC.  This year’s theme is “Your Water – To Know It Is To Love It”.

Access to clean, safe tap water is vital to any community. Tap water is used every day for drinking, cooking, cleaning, fire safety and in many other ways throughout the District.  Using tap water instead of bottled water is better for the environment and is also much less expensive. Through this contest, students are encouraged to creatively capture how they use tap water in their daily lives and explore the benefits of drinking and using tap water.
